Jillian Guilfoyle practices civil litigation with an emphasis on business litigation and employment law. She handles cases involving wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour violations, and issues concerning leaves of absence. As part of her practice, Jillian counsels individuals and employers on fiduciary duty violations, contract disputes, and other business torts. Jillian is also experienced at drafting and analyzing employee handbooks and other personnel policies and procedures.
Education / Background
Jillian graduated summa cum laude from Suffolk University with a degree in Legal Studies.
She went on to study at Suffolk University Law School, where she focused her studies on labor and employment law, earning both her J.D. and an additional concentration certificate in labor and employment law.
Prior to joining Bennett & Belfort, P.C., Jillian worked at a boutique labor firm representing public sector unions and municipalities. Jillian was primarily responsible for conducting settlement negotiations, grievance meetings, and Education Reform Act arbitrations.
Jillian’s experience includes representing employees and employers in Superior Court litigation, grievance arbitrations, disciplinary hearings, and dismissal arbitrations, as well as state and federal administrative hearings before the Massachusetts Department of Labor Relations, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Presently, Jillian is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
