Todd Bennett
Attorney Bennett is a founding partner of the firm. Mr. Bennett is admitted to the Bars of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States District Court-District of Massachusetts, and the United States District Court – Middle District of Florida. Attorney Bennett is a graduate of University of Florida (1993) and the University of Miami School of Law (1996).
Attorney Bennett practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, contract drafting and review, employment law and litigation, real estate litigation,landlord/tenant law, construction litigation, and commercial lease drafting and negotiations. Attorney Bennett’s clients range from individuals and start-up businesses to Fortune 500 companies. He is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys. Attorney Bennett’s litigation and negotiation experience is extensive. Some of his accomplishments include:
-Lead trial counsel in more than 50 jury trials and more than 100 bench trials within the courts of the State of Florida, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the Federal Court for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (United States District Court of Massachusetts)
-Representation of clients in litigation against the Securities and Exchange Commission, high tech companies, publicly traded companies, and individuals
-Tried cases involving commercial litigation matters, contract disputes, real estate disputes, employment law, unfair trade practices, fraud and misrepresentation, partnership disputes, construction disputes, and criminal defense matters.
-numerous commercial lease negotiations on behalf of both landlords and tenants
-Representation of numerous clients involving motions for preliminary injunctions relative to non-competition agreements and/or non-solicitation agreements.
-Representation of businesses and individuals in the negotiation and drafting of buy/sell agreements and the purchase or sale of business assets.
-Providing human resources advice to employers concerning the hiring and firing of employees, wage and hour laws, and how to avoid discriminatory and retaliatory treatment of employees.
-Negotiation, drafting, and review of severance agreements, including highly compensated individuals and officers of corporations.
