Who We Are

Nafisa focuses her practice on employment law and litigation. She represents employees in a wide range of workplace disputes, including discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, paid family and medical leave issues and Massachusetts Wage Act matters. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court-District of Massachusetts. Nafisa is dedicated to advancing workplace equity and ensuring her clients’ rights are protected.

Education / Background

Nafisa earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she focused her studies on civil litigation and labor and employment law. While in law school, she participated in the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Moot Court and an Immigration Law Clinic. She was also a Judicial Extern in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and as a law clerk for an employment law firm in Minneapolis.

She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor where she doubled majored in History and Spanish. She is a proficient Spanish speaker.

Professional Affiliations & Speaking Engagements

Nafisa serves on the executive board of the Massachusetts Employment Lawyers Association (MELA), where she is co-chair of the Attorneys of Color/Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

She was also a presenter of the MCLE “Types of Employment Discrimination Cases” in September 2023.

Experience

  • Successfully argued and defeated summary judgement on race discrimination, retaliation, and hostile work environment claims
  • Helped secure a substantial settlement for a class of misclassified employees
