Bennett & Belfort Partner Michaela May was re-elected on June 27, 2025, to serve a second term of the Massachusetts Employment Lawyers Association (MELA). MELA is an organization of approximately 180 attorneys in the Commonwealth who primarily represent employees.
Attorney May’s practice focuses on wage-and-hour, discrimination, harassment and restrictive covenants. Prior to serving as MELA president, Ms. May was MELA’s vice president, and co-chaired MELA’s Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) committee.
“Massachusetts provides strong protections for employee rights, including under the Wage Act, the Paid Family Medical Leave Act, and our anti-discrimination law,” Ms. May said. “MELA’s work is critical to keeping these laws vibrant and effective. I am honored to lead the organization through this critical time.”
